You can’t extend your coverage if you want to make your vacation longer by choice. So, if you’re having a blast (we hope you do!) and aren’t ready to head home yet, we can’t extend your coverage for that reason.
What if you need to extend your policy because something goes wrong while you’re away? Your plan will continue past your original return date if both of the following apply:
- Your whole trip is insured by the plan.
- Your return is delayed due to something out of your control.
The extension will end either when you get back to your original return destination or seven days after your original return date — whichever comes first.
