Want to know more about our travel insurance for all-inclusive trips?

Let’s break down the ways our coverage can help your all-inclusive stay all-relaxing.

It’s helpful to have coverage for any trip, including your packaged getaway.

All-inclusive trips may bundle the fun, but they don’t protect you or your trip investment if something goes wrong. Travel insurance can help you avoid losing all the money you put into your vacation.

The best travel insurance for all-inclusive vacations offers coverage for:

  • Trip cancellation
  • Trip interruption
  • Emergency medical care
  • Lost, damaged, stolen, or delayed luggage
  • Travel delay

You deserve a “no worries” vibe in vacation mode. Travel insurance can help keep a variety of potential travel issues from turning your all-inclusive trip upside down.

Your coverage depends on which of our six plans and nine optional upgrades you choose. We’re here for every traveler and every trip, so we offer options for a variety of travel needs and budgets.

Here are some top travel situations we can support you with on all-inclusive getaways:

  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Emergency medical care
  • Medical evacuation
  • Baggage loss or delay coverage
  • Travel delay

Plus, no matter which of our plans you choose, you can call our emergency assistance provider 24/7 for help if something goes wrong.

Want to dive deeper into our coverage? Visit our benefits hub.

The right travel insurance for your all-inclusive vacation depends on your trip style, budget, and other travel needs. It’s helpful to have enough coverage for your prepaid, nonrefundable costs and your biggest “what-ifs.”

At Travelex, our Ultimate plan packs our best travel insurance for all-inclusive vacations. It offers our highest limits and most benefits and optional upgrades, with coverage like:

  • Trip cancellation up to 100% of trip cost (max $50,000 per person)
  • Trip interruption up to 150% of trip cost (max $75,000)
  • Emergency medical up to $250,000 and medical evacuation up to $1,000,000
  • Baggage and personal belongings up to $2,000
  • Baggage and travel delay
  • Trip inconvenience benefits, including closed beach, golf course, and other attractions
  • Kids-included pricing
  • Waiver of the pre-existing condition exclusion
  • Up to nine optional upgrades, including cancel for any reason

When you calculate your trip cost (the insurable part of your trip), you can include these expenses:

  1. Payments you made before leaving home (prepaid)
  2. Payments you can’t get back (nonrefundable)

Here are some examples of insurable expenses (as long as they’re prepaid and nonrefundable):

  • Your all-inclusive resort package
  • Flights to and from your destination
Airport transfers and transportation
  • Room upgrades
  • Excursions, activities, or tours
  • Drink and meal -packages
  • If it’s paid upfront and you’d lose the money if you had to cancel, you can usually insure it. If you book part of your trip and it comes with free cancellation, leave it out of your trip cost.

Important: Check the details of your all-inclusive package, because many have hidden costs like taxes, fees, and service charges. These are usually prepaid and nonrefundable, so you can include them in your travel insurance trip cost.

Consider choosing a travel insurance plan with trip cancellation coverage. It can help you recover the prepaid, nonrefundable parts of your trip if you need to call it off.

At Travelex, you can use our trip cancellation benefit if you cancel for a covered reason listed in your policy like:

    • You have a sudden illness or injury.
    • Your airline or cruise line cancel due to severe weather.
    • Someone steals your passport.
    • A natural disaster (like a hurricane or earthquake) makes your destination unhabitable.

We offer trip cancellation on our Ultimate, Advantage, and Essential plans.

Want even more flexibility? Our Ultimate plan is eligible for our optional cancel for any reason upgrade*. It lets you cancel for any reason — like simply changing your mind — and receive reimbursement up to 75% of your insured trip cost ($7,500 maximum).

*Cancel for any fortuitous reason in NY.

Yes, it can, if you choose a plan with coverage for your luggage and personal items. Whether your stuff is lost, stolen, damaged, or delayed, this benefit can reimburse you for the essentials you need so you can get back to enjoying your vacation package.

We have a baggage and personal effects benefit at Travelex. Here’s how it works on our Ultimate, Advantage, Essential, Travel Med Go, or Flight Insure Plus plan:

    • We can reimburse you if your bags go missing, get damaged, or take their own detour — up to the plan limit and per item caps.
    • We can help you get a new passport or visa if it’s lost, stolen, or damaged during your trip.
    • We can reimburse essential purchases when your luggage is delayed for five hours or more (six hours on our Essential plan).

Want more info on how we can help if your items go rogue? Check out our baggage travel insurance page.

It usually depends on the type of activity you’re planning. Standard, nonextreme activities are often covered. Many travel insurance providers exclude higher risk adventures from their base plans.

Most of our Travelex plans include coverage for lower-risk activities like:

    • Kayaking
    • Snorkeling up to 75 feet
    • Horseback riding
    • Snowboarding
    • Hiking
    • Surfing

Want to try more adventurous excursions like bungee jumping, skydiving, or skiing? You can add our adventure activities upgrade to our Ultimate, Advantage, Essential, or Travel Med Go plan.

    Our adventure activities upgrade:

    • Removes the exclusion of certain heart-pounding experiences, so you can maximize on adrenaline and protection
    • Adds security evacuation coverage
    • Adds search and rescue coverage

Visit our adventure travel insurance page to get more details on our activity coverage.

Yes. Look for emergency medical and evacuation benefits when you get a quote. These benefits offer coverage that counts if you need care away from home.

At Travelex, we offer different amounts of emergency medical and evacuation coverage on these plans:

    • Ultimate
    • Advantage
    • Essential
    • Travel Med Go
    • Flight Insure Plus

Our Ultimate plan has the highest benefit limits, with:

    • Up to $250,000 emergency medical and dental
    • Up to $1,000,000 emergency medical evacuation coverage

Want even more medical coverage? Our Ultimate and Travel Med Go plans have an optional medical upgrade that adds $250,000 in coverage to the base plan limit. If you choose the upgrade, you’ll have a total of:

    • Up to $500,000 in emergency medical coverage with our Ultimate plan
    • Up to $300,000 in emergency medical coverage with our Travel Med Go plan

Plus, with any of our plans you’re able to call our emergency assistance provider 24/7 for help with your illness or injury. They can help you find a local doctor, arrange your medical evacuation, and more.

Yes, if you choose our Ultimate plan. It’s our only plan with kids-included pricing, making it a great fit for all-inclusive family vacations.

We can help protect one child per insured adult at no additional cost if:

    • The child is aged 17 or younger.
    • The insured adult is at least 18 years old.
    • The child’s trip cost is the same or less than the adult’s individual trip cost.

Note: If you add policy upgrades, we’ll charge each traveler the upgrade cost, including the child.

Visit our family travel insurance page for the scoop on our kids-included pricing.

Yes — some travel insurance providers offer coverage if a key attraction closes for specific reasons during your all-inclusive adventure. Look for the trip inconvenience benefit when you get a quote.

Our Travelex Ultimate plan offers up to $600 total trip inconvenience coverage. Here’s what it can help with:

    • Closed attractions: You can receive up to $200 if a primary attraction — like a ski resort, golf course, or amusement park — closes due to severe weather, lack of snow, or loss of essential services.
    • Closed beach: You can receive up to $200 if government authorities close the beach for at least 48 consecutive hours due to contamination (with no open alternative beach within 10 miles).
    • Cruise disablement: You can receive up to $200 if your ship operates without power, food, water, or restrooms for more than three hours outside of the port.

The price varies; there’s no one-size-fits-all number. Travel insurance costs can change based on a few key details about your unique trip, like your:

    • Age
    • Trip length
    • Trip cost

The easiest way to see your exact price is to get a quick quote on our website. You can compare plans and upgrades to see which best fits your trip and budget.
