What is Flight Insurance?

If you’re planning a last-minute trip or a quick weekend away, Travelex’s travel insurance plans may provide more protection than you’re looking for. In these instances, Flight Insurance is a choice worth considering.

Travelex’s Flight Insurance protects you from travel mishaps such as flight delays, flight accidents, and more. With Flight Insurance coverage, you’re able to travel with some peace of mind, but without paying a high price for your travel insurance policy.

What are the different types of Flight Insurance coverage?

Travelex offers two distinct levels of Flight Insurance: Flight Insure, and Flight Insure Plus.

Flight Insure is ideal for travelers who want only the basics of their trip covered. This plan provides coverage for incidents including trip delay and flight accidents.

Flight Insure Plus covers those same essentials with the added benefit of providing protection for baggage delays, as well as emergency medical and dental expenses and evacuations.

With both plans, you also receive access to 24/7 worldwide Travel Assistance and Concierge Services provided by World Travel Protection.

How do I purchase Flight Insurance?

In order to purchase a Flight Insurance plan, all you will need to do is plug in a few of your travel details into the quote box.

Once you’ve provided information including your travel dates, state of residence, and other important details, you will see your travel insurance plan options. Beneath “Choose your Plan” simply select “Flight”. Here you will be presented with both Flight Insurance options. Then, choose which Flight Insurance plan best covers your trip and follow the prompts to purchase.

By purchasing either of Travelex’s Flight Insurance options, you are making the safe and smart decision to protect your upcoming journey from any unforeseen incidents.

  • Medical consultation and monitoring
  • Prescription assistance

Does Flight Insure Plus provide protection throughout my trip?

While Flight Insure is a flight-only plan, Flight Insure Plus is a more robust travel insurance plan that provides continued coverage during your entire trip.

With Flight Insure Plus, you are eligible to receive emergency medical and dental services, as well as coverage for lost or delayed baggage.

Do I receive primary coverage on the Flight Insurance plans?

Both Flight Insure and Flight Insure Plus provide primary coverage with no deductibles. This means faster reimbursement in the event of a claim.

I have a pre-existing medical condition. Will I receive a pre-existing condition exclusion waiver with a Flight Insurance plan?

The Flight Insurance plans do not automatically include or provide upgrade options for a pre-existing condition exclusion waiver.

You are eligible to receive pre-existing condition exclusion waivers on the Travel America and Travel Select plans as long as you buy the plans within 3 days of final trip payment (Travel America) and 15 days of the initial trip payment (Travel Select).

Do I need to buy a Flight Insurance plan in addition to a Travel Basic or Travel Select plan?

No. A Flight Insurance plan does not need to be complemented by a Travel Basic or Travel Select plan. Each of these plans is tailored to offer different benefits depending on a traveler’s needs.

If you prefer coverage that begins the day after purchasing your policy and continues until you return home, Travel Select or Travel Basic can provide you with quality protection. If you’d rather only receive coverage for your flight or your flight plus medical expenses, consider either of the Flight Insurance plans.

It’s important to note that while Flight Insure and Flight Insure Plus provide flight-related travel insurance coverage, only the Travel Basic and Travel Select plans offer protection in the event your trip is canceled or interrupted for a covered reason.
