If your trip gets canceled because of unforeseen events eligible for coverage by your policy, such as inclement weather or illness, we can reimburse you up to the trip cost amount you insured for your policy.

If your trip is interrupted because of unexpected eligible lreasons like illness, accidents, or inclement weather and you need to cut it short or resume later, we provide coverage up to the trip cost amount you specified for your policy.

If your trip is delayed by at least a specified number of consecutive hours after your original departure time, we may reimburse you for reasonable additional expenses up to the maximum limit shown.

If you miss a connection by three hours or more because of an eligible delay, we can reimburse you for unused tickets or additional transportation necessary to resume your trip.

If you meet the plan purchase requirements listed, we may offer coverage for your pre-existing medical conditions.

This represents the number of days to “look back at changes in medical history and determine if a claim is related to a pre-existing medical condition. The days are counted backward from the day preceding the policy’s effective date."

If you need to file a claim, your plan benefits will be used first as primary coverage. If you have additional costs after your primary coverage has paid out, secondary coverage will be used.

If your baggage, personal effects, or travel documents are lost, stolen, or damaged, we can reimburse you so you can replace these items, up to the limit shown.

If your baggage is delayed for a specified number of consecutive hours, we can reimburse you for the purchase of necessary personal belongings, up to the limit shown.

Exclusive to our Travel Select plan, we offer coverage to your travel companions aged 17 years old and younger at no additional cost, provided their individual trip costs are equal to or lower than yours. Our travel insurance plans provide coverage up to a specific maximum trip length. The plan you choose will provide coverage for a trip length up to the number of days shown, so it’s important to check that it will cover your entire trip.

If you purchase the Travel Select plan and include this upgrade, you can choose to increase your emergency medical expenses coverage by $50,000 and your emergency medical evacuation coverage by $500,000.

Our Travel Basic plan gives you the option to add our adventure sports upgrade, which can provide coverage for additional activities that aren’t included in the base plan — like professional athletic events, motor sports, motor racing, caving, spelunking, free climbing, mountain climbing that requires the use of equipment, free diving, scuba diving at a depth greater than 60 feet or without a dive master, operating or learning to operate any aircraft, skydiving, BASE jumping, bungee jumping, zip lining, hang gliding, parachuting, and air travel on any air-supported device, other than a regularly scheduled airline or air charter.
