Your pre-existing medical condition exclusion is waived when you purchase Travelex’s Travel Select plan within 15 days of initial trip payment and the full trip cost is insured and you're medically able to travel.

Primary Coverage

Kids-Included Pricing

Travelex offers great value to traveling families on the Travel Select plan. Note: If you include any upgrade(s) in your policy, the child(ren) listed on your policy will be charged for the upgrade premium.

Travelex offers extra coverage options for Cancel For Any Reason, Car Rental Collision, Additional Medical Coverage, Flight Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), and Adventure Sports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does travel insurance cover COVID-19 (coronavirus)?

If you have first tested positive for COVID-19 while your coverage is in effect and have been diagnosed by a physician to be unfit for travel, you would be eligible for trip cancellation and interruption coverage. In addition, other coverages may also be applicable if a positive test occurs during your trip.

What if I have to work and can’t go on my trip?

If you are required to work, a merger takes place, or your company is deemed unsuitable for business and you are the key employee, having Cancel For Work Reasons coverage allows you to cancel your trip and be reimbursed for unused, non-refundable trip expenses. This early purchase benefit is available on the Travel Select plan, but only if the policy is purchased with 15 days of the initial trip payment.

I have health insurance; do I need medical coverage?

No one expects to have a medical emergency while traveling. And did you know most health insurance plans do not cover you when traveling outside the US? Having Emergency Medical Expense and Emergency Evacuation & Repatriation of Remains coverage helps ensure you receive quality care. Our medical professionals are available 24/7 to help you with advanced medical payments, guiding you to suitable medical facilities and providing nurse assisted transportation home when needed.

I have a scuba diving excursion planned, am I covered if something should happen?

Yes, scuba diving is a covered benefit on Travelex’s base plans, but only if you’re diving at a depth of less than 60 feet. If you’re scuba diving in depths of 60 feet or more or without a dive master, you must include the Adventure Sports upgrade in your policy for coverage to apply. The Adventure Sports upgrade is available on the Travel Select plan. This upgrade also provides coverage for participation in professional athletic events, mountain climbing, operating an aircraft and travel on air-supported devices such as hot air ballooning.

Am I covered when the tour operator files bankruptcy?

If you have booked your travel arrangements through a travel agency, financial default coverage could cover you for trip cancellation or interruption if you are unable to go on your trip. You must have purchased your protection plan within 15 days of your initial trip payment for Financial Default coverage to be included in your plan, and the default must occur more than 14 days after effective date of the plan.

Are weather delays covered?

If your trip is delayed 5 hours or more, trip delay coverage allows you to be reimbursed for additional accommodations and meals if your departure is delayed due to inclement weather. The trip delay daily limit is a generous $200 per person on Travel Select and $250 on Travel Basic.
