Plans underwritten by Zurich

The U.S. Department of State has updated its travel advisories for the region. We encourage all travelers to visit the U.S. Department of State website.

The following FAQ is provided for informational purposes only and should not be interpreted to confer coverage. Your specific factual situation and actual policy language will determine coverage. Each claim will be reviewed and evaluated and a coverage determination made based on the specific facts, circumstances, policy language, and applicable laws and regulations of the jurisdiction. Please review your policy wording, or contact the Travelex customer solutions team at [email protected] for more details.

What does Travelex travel insurance not cover regarding the current situation in Israel?

Generally, our policies exclude coverage for any losses resulting directly or indirectly from declared or undeclared war or any act of war. In addition, our policies exclude coverage for any losses resulting from an event that was foreseeable on the date you purchased your policy.

Under certain facts and circumstances, claims made under the trip cancellation or trip interruption provisions of the policy may be covered for policies purchased prior to Oct. 7, 2023.

I have not yet purchased travel insurance for my upcoming trip to Israel. Can I still purchase a Travelex plan for my trip to Israel?

Effective Oct. 10, 2023, Travelex policies cannot be purchased for the destinations of Israel or the Palestinian territories.

What can I do if I purchased a Travelex policy for my trip to Israel but have not left yet?

If you purchased a policy for a trip to Israel or the Palestinian territories and are within 15 days of your policy purchase date, you are eligible for a full refund of the policy cost, provided you have no claims and have not yet departed for your trip.

Alternatively, if you canceled your trip and received a refund from all of your travel suppliers, you can contact us at [email protected] and provide us with both of the following information for refund consideration:

1. Documentation showing proof of full refund of prepaid, nonrefundable trip costs insured.

2. Confirmation that you have no claims filed or to be filed against the policy.

If I already have a Travelex policy for my trip to Israel, can I move my policy to a later date?

If you currently have a policy for a trip to Israel and have not yet departed or filed a claim, you can move your policy to newly scheduled dates or to a new destination.

Alternatively, if you do not have known dates for future travel but would still like to hold your policy, you may do so by waiving your right to file a claim and contacting us at the contact number listed on your policy documents.

If I already have a Travelex policy for my trip to Israel, can I still receive coverage if I decide to go on my trip as scheduled?

If you still want to go on your trip to Israel and purchased your policy on or before Oct. 6, 2023, certain coverage may apply.

Please refer to your policy for details about coverage and exclusions related to terrorist incidents/acts and acts of war.

Do I still have coverage if I am currently in Israel and have a Travelex policy?

Please refer to your policy for details on coverage and exclusions.

If I am currently in Israel and have a Travelex plan, how can I stay updated with security alerts and receive assistance?

If you have access to the Travel On app, you can download it from the App Store or Google Play. Our mobile app tap-to-call travel assistance, destination advice, and real-time security alerts for your location.

Travelex policyholders also have access to 24/7 emergency assistance.
